Events in the Mall

The Brewery Quarter is not just a great place for shopping and dining. Over the year there are many events taking place from one of the Brewery Quarter’s own venues as well as events that continue celebrations taking place elsewhere in Cheltenham.

Cheltenham Jazz Festival

A Jazz Festival is organized every year there in Chetenham.

The week long Cheltenham Jazz Festival, taking place over the first May Bank holiday brings together many genres of jazz. Considered by some to be one of the best Jazz Festivals in the world, international jazz icons as well as up-and-coming new artists will be in attendance. With around 50 official concerts, plus fringe events there will be something for all the 20,000 expected visitors. Previous guests have included Jamie Cullum, Hugh Laurie, Eartha Kitt, Imelda May, Van Morrison, Stephane Grappelli and Ornette Coleman.

Coffee and cake

Enjoy a coffee and cake at Hollywood Bowl in September, as part of Macmillan's national Coffee Morning. The event takes place in the bar area, with staff baking a variety of cakes to enjoy with your mug of Costa coffee. There will also be balloons and colouring sheets for children.

The Brewery Quarter’s Summer Jam Festival

Is the summer jam festival organized by the Brewery free to attend?

The August Summer Jam is a free two-day celebration of music, food and drink. There is something for everyone. The weekend of 4-5 August 2018 will see the Summer Jam stage host local performers and DJs and The Brewery Quarter’s own bars and restaurants will be offering outdoor bars and tasty street food stalls, fun competitions, exciting games and more.

Brewhouse and Kitchen will have a pop-up bar showcasing a selection of its amazing beers for you to try before you buy. Cosy Club’s outdoor Chase Distillery cocktail bar will be hosting cocktail master classes on the main stage so you can learn how to make the perfect Mojito. There’s free tapas too. There will be discounted and free giveaways from other food venues too and look out for the characters in costume throughout the festival.

Young musicians can busk on the Summer Jam stage on the Sunday. Many other events will be raising money for charity with face-painting, raffles and gifts on offer at various times across the weekend. Latest news and updates about Summer Jam, including confirmed acts as well as a chance to win a pair of Lakefest tickets including camping, are on the Facebook Summer Jam event page.

Cheltenham Festival

Thousands of people attend the Cheltenham Festival that runs for a week in March. The Brewery Quarter continues the celebrations with live music between 18:00 – 21:00 that will get you up and dancing even if your flutter on the horses has not paid off. There is street food and plenty of choices to relax with a drink. There is live music in Brewhouse & Kitchen that plays later in the evening whilst you can sample some of their race week beers which pair perfectly with its hearty pub menu.

Babel and Brewhouse & Kitchen show the races live on big screens if you want to miss the crowds or what may be inclement weather.

Christmas Santa

In the Brewery there is every year a Christmas Santa event.

The Brewery Quarter’s Santa events in December have been very popular. Father Christmas will be visiting various venues in the mall, accompanied by a beautiful winter princess and ice queen. There will be a performance of songs and treats will also be handed out. Santa will be visiting Brewhouse & Kitchen, Harvester, Hollywood Bowl, Frankie & Benny’s and Cineworld. Be sure to reserve your booking as soon as possible.

Christmas lights switch-on

The first Saturday in December sees the official Christmas lights switch-on. The Christmas lights are unofficially on several weeks before in a packed schedule of festive activities with the mall festooned in festive decorations. The switch-on party begins at 17:00, starting three hours of music and dancing for all the family. Father Christmas will join the special guest to turn on the lights at about 18:30. Space is limited so arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Fresher’s week

The Brewery Quarter welcomes students for a special Fresher’s welcome in October. There will be music as well as offers on food and drink, with the chance to win cinema tickets, beer and more.
