The Real China
The Real China restaurant in Cheltenham is a unique buffet style oriental restaurant, serving the very best Peking, Szechwan, Cantonese, Thai, Japanese and Malaysian cuisine - all using freshly prepared ingredients. It’s proved to be extremely popular with both small and large parties and is known to be a favourite as a good value place to eat.
Their chefs are all recruited from Hong Kong and mainland China and are highly trained in traditional Chinese cookery so visitors to The Brewery can expect a taste of the real china.
This innovative format offers a buffet style restaurant offering great Chinese food at competitive prices and is part of a large and successful national chain.
In August 2010, the Real China restaurant nearly doubled in size when they moved in to a brand new, state of the art restaurant opposite Prezzo, but has continued to offer the same great value and a fantastic variety of oriental cuisine.
The new space offers private booths for business events and parties for up to 30 people, as well as increased space for its original buffet offer. The restaurant is now over two floors with a feature spiral staircase.
All you can eat buffet Chinese:
Monday - Saturday 11:30am - 3:30pm - £5.95
Monday - Thursday 5:30pm - 10:30pm - £11.95
Friday - Saturday 6:00 pm - 11:30pm - £12.95
Sunday Special - all day - £9.95

Have been on many occasions and never had any issues, fab for the whole family! a bargain price which we all need at the mo?!?
However, if your planning on having a party/celebration there be careful, it can go t***s up! booked for 22 and we were mixed in with another party and i couldn't even see some of my party. make sure you arrive before any guests to ensure your happy with seating arrangements etc. however the manager was V helpful in sroting out the issues!!
great value for money, and i keep going back!

I visit this restaurant regularly... at least twice a month. I have found all the staff to be friendly, knowledgeable and kind, and the food to be perfect no matter what time of day I appear.
I recommend that you try them.
This is a great venue especially with friends.
Thank you to all the staff at The Real China

5 of us went very unexpectedly to the Real China last Thursday about 6.30pm. We had a really lovely time - the food choice was magnificent - something for everyone. Beautifully cooked, hot, well presented and excellent taste. Service was good. Only disappointment was that there were no bean sprouts! Wondered why but otherwise 12 out of 10 if marking. Going again this Saturday so shows you how good we all thought it was.!!!!!

No good for vegetarians, and the staff are really unhelpful, wouldn't heat up eggs or nuts or anything, so was impossible to get a "main" meal, just side dishes, and for the £12-13 price that's really poor!!!!

I adore the real china but (being 12) I found it very expensive when me and my friend went last week before seeing a mivie and were shocked when we were told to pay £11.95 each! I now know that it is because 1. It was 5:45 (when the prices are lifted) and 2. Our height, we are both around 145cm but had to pay for an adults meal… but only eating a kids sized portion! Despite that I adore the food and the relaxing feel with it's modern interior, I will be back but for lunch this time! (Oh and NOT wearing heels ;L)

very impressed with dishes and food quality in terms of taste, but not very hot
also as you get closer to closing time, you arent made to feel very welcome if you are still eating or drinking up, they will stand over you and wash the floor around you !

Excellent food, and plenty of it! And reasonably priced. A place where the whole family can have lunch. It is very clean too. Very helpful and friendly staff. "The Real China" in The Brewery Mall is an asset for Cheltenham. We will come there again after our first visit.

We eat here quite often as food, atmosphere and service are great. However our waitress today deserves a particular mention, so very polite with a welcoming smile. I hope you realise who i'm talking about as she is a credit to your resturant. Many thanks

My new favourite place to eat. Food is really good for buffet style Chinese. No fuss, you just get on with eating. Lunch has lots of choice and evening meal has lots and lots of choice. If you're a food snob i'm sure you could find something to moan about but for the rest of us mere mortals, tasty food, good value, nice setting and polite staff. Thankyou and see you again soon.

Went just before Christmas - fantastic selection of many different dishes. Loads of vegetarian and meat options and regularly topped up if buffet running low. Unlimited soft drink top ups - really couldn't fault it on anything.

Three times in a row had a bad experience either food was cold. or not cooked properly . on my last visit once again the food wasn't up to standards and eating out of date profiteroles when I informed staff they said they already knew about the problem all they did was apoligise and the prices for lager is a joke expecially when it comes out of a can

Wonderful is you are a meat eater, you couldn't do better. If you cannot eat meat the menu is limited. What few fish dishes there are (2 when I went at a lunchtime) they were quickly taken, just a few prawns left. Would love to see more fish. Thank you. Lyn Ricketts

truly amazing
i been there many times, and since the new place opened up its got better, the new colour sceme is definatly more welcoming!
the food is amazing but puddings seem to have gone down hill, although a nice selection of gateux icecream and fruit, there is nothing else to offer! which is unfortunate, but then again pudding is definatley more af a european thing!
overall brilliant service (even though i always manage to be served by the same person lol)

Went lunchtime to the new venue, the sign in the window boasts 150 items to choose from???? Can they not count, there wasn't even 50 items. Many many of the trays were empty and the selection was very poor, certainly should have had a better range of food there.Fine,it was only a lunch meal which was cheaper at £5.95,but other buffet venues do not cut right down on lunch time servings.
The food though was excellent and couldn't be faulted..

At last back to a decent format. At £3.95, this was a poor experience, they now have a decent selection and the food tastes much much better so I am happy to pay £5.95 for better tasting cuisine. They could do with a change in the meat section, only a small gripe.

Service is excellent, savoury food excellent.
The major dissapointment is the desserts-a choice of fruit, tinned pears, jelly or half a chocolate donut!
No ice cream at all. This has happened last 3/4 times I've been there so they are becoming meaner.Would I go back-????

Fantastic! I went there at about 10:30pm on Saturday 21st November 2009. Last weekend basically. I was with 4 ex army pals who have been all over the Far East and we all agreed that despite eating Chinese food for years the food here was quite excellent. Not just the quantity but the quality. It deserves a Michelin Star or two. Once again ... fantastic.
