Single mums and dads invited to the Play Farm
The Play Farm at The Brewery in Cheltenham is launching a Single Parents Night on Friday 28th January 2011.
Between 6.30pm and 8.30pm single mums and dads are invited to come along with their children for an evening of fun and new introductions.
The kids can enjoy The Play Farm experience and let off a little steam before bed time with some specially organised games, while the parents can enjoy a social occasion, including a light-hearted pub quiz.
Assistant Manager Vanessa Mumford said: “The Play Farm is a family operation designed for families and this occasion recognises the large number of single parent families out there. Single parents can sometimes find it daunting attending places alone with their children and we want to give them a chance to come along and feel comfortable knowing there are other parents there in the same situation as them. We do hope local mums and dads will come along and meet each other."
"We are putting together some activities that will hopefully encourage parents to engage with each other, without feeling uncomfortable and we recognised that a "non-alcoholic pub quiz" would do this as parents can choose whether to join in or not. If it’s successful, we will hold a Singles Night every month.”
Children will also be looked after by party co-ordinator Ben Williams, who will be organising games and activities with them, giving the parents ample opportunity to relax and chat!
The Play Farm Membership is free and admission prices are £1.50 for babies under one year (or free if with older siblings), £3.75 for under fours and £4.95 for four – twelve year olds. Please note the maximum height for children is 148 cm's. The singles night is free for adults, they just pay for their children to get in.
