TITAN the Robot made his debut at the Brewery! Titan entertaining the crowds at the Brewery

Science fiction came face-to-face with real life when a giant robot took over the Brewery on Saturday 27th June 2009 .

Titan the robot is quite literally the biggest entertainer on the planet.  The 8ft giant robot kept Brewery customers on their toes as he paraded through the centre, with performances that were unforgettable.

Marketing Manager Demelsa Coleman says: “Titan was a huge hit and the youngsters absolutely loved him.  He can be quite scary as he stands so tall, but Titan knows what he is doing and would never hurt anyone.  He had people laughing and screaming in equal measure, leading people around the Brewery like the Pied Piper.  He even popped into Cineworld and Dwell to say hello, much to everyone's delight."

The robot - which has become a worldwide sensation over the last few years - was at the Brewery to celebrate the launch of the family movie Transformers II: Revenge of the Fallen.

Further information:

Titan is a concept robot built entirely for the purpose of entertainment, in fact Titan is the future of entertainment. There are now three Titan's in existence and they have all been designed and built by Cyberstein Robots Limited in Cornwall, England.

The workings under Titans 'exoskeleton' are a closely guarded secret and the engineers from Cyberstein Robots limited are always tight lipped about how he works.

If you ever see Titan performing you will see that he has a 'Docking Station' that he uses to drive

around and preserve his battery power. Titan is always accompanied by a 'Demonstrator' who stays close at hand. When Titan is fully charged his lithium polymer batteries last for around 30 minutes.

Crowds gather at the Brewery's entrance to watch Titan

Titan's creator Nik Fielding states that "I wanted Titan to be purely an entertainment robot, he just loves to sing and dance".

There are over a thousand video clips of Titan on You Tube put on there by his fans. If you want to know more about Titan, please visit www.titantherobot.com    (still under construction April 09)   When appearing abroad Titan really has made the headlines; Titan was on the front cover of Beijing’s biggest selling newspaper, appeared in every Irish national newspaper on the same day including two front covers, made several Hong Kong publications, has popped up in The Gulf News on many occasions and has even met royalty in the shape of the Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, not once but three times!  Titan has a worldwide appeal having performed in many countries from France to China.
