The Cheltenham 'Gloucestershire College' IT Centre has moved into new premises at The Brewery bringing a local community service to the centre – a move that has been pro-actively welcomed as part of the balanced tenant mix that is of utmost important to the development of the site.
The centre, (previously based above other properties situated in the High Street opposite Wilkinsons), offers facilities and expertise for people who want to enhance their computer skills as well as courses for absolute beginners. Many other interesting courses are also available, including tracing your family tree and digital imaging.
Manager Tricia Howell said: “We are very excited with our brand new, state-of-the-art building – it offers everything we need. It is close to our previous location, which minimises any disruption to our 800+ students. It’s accessible by public transport and there is also public parking at The Brewery. It’s fully air conditioned, which has been a problem in the past with over 70 machines operating in a relatively confined space.
“And we’ll have our very own ‘shop front’ based in Oxford Passage. – not just a door that was easy to miss. Very importantly, it is has full disabled access, including a lift.
The 15 strong team at the Gloucestershire College IT Centre, Cheltenham will all be moving across the road to The Brewery and the centre will be opening in October 2006. The unit is 3000 sq ft and has been taken on a long term lease.
